Adeline Rucquoi

PhD in medieval history from the Sorbonne-Paris IV University and emeritus director of research at the CNRS (Centre National de la Recherche Scientifique). She was attached to the Centre "Études Méridionales" in Toulouse (1982-1990) and then to the "Centre de Recherches Historiques" (CNRS-EHESS) in Paris (1990-2014).

Temas de investigación.

Her research career began with a study of urban history (Valladolid in the Middle Ages), was extended with the analysis of the "Genesis of power" at the end of the Middle Ages in the Iberian Peninsula and was finally oriented towards Iberian cultural history throughout the medieval period. He has also devoted special attention to the history of the pilgrimage to Santiago de Compostela.

Other activities.

She has been president of the Société Française des Amis de Saint Jacques de Compostelle and of its Compostela Study Centre (1999-2016). She was director of its journal Compostelle. Cahiers du Centre d'Études, de Recherche et d'Histoire compostellanes.

She is a member of the International Committee of Experts on the Way of St James of Xacobeo (since 2010); member of the Scientific Committee of its journal Ad Limina and of the journals Compostellanum and Cuadernos de Estudios Gallegos.

She was co-director of the Chair "Camino de Santiago y las peregrinaciones" (Xacobeo-Cathedral of Santiago-University of Santiago de Compostela) between 2016 and 2019.

He is a full member of the "Société Nationale des Antiquaires de France", Correspondent of the Real Academia de la Historia (Spain), of the Academia Mexicana de la Historia (Mexico), of the Academia Portuguesa da História (Portugal), of the Real Academia de Buenas Letras de Barcelona (Spain) and of the Centro de Investigação Professor Doutor Joaquim Veríssimo Serrão, Santarem (Portugal), and member of several academic corporations.
