Research topics.
His lines of research are focused on the socio-economic organisation of the medieval landscape, the religious history (diocesan and monastic) of medieval Galicia, the social history of women in medieval Galicia, the historical sociology of the pilgrimage and the Camino de Santiago.
Other activities.
He was a postgraduate scholarship holder from the Fundación Barrié. He is an associate researcher at the CEHC - Centro de Estudos de Historia da Cidade of the University of Santiago de Compostela (USC), as well as a collaborating researcher at the CITCEM - Centro de Investigação Transdisciplinar «Cultura, Espaço e Memória» at the University of Porto (UP). Since 2008, he has been the coordinator of the "International Colloquia Compostela" [Spanish National Research Council, CSIC - Commission Internationale d'Histoire et d'Études du Christianisme, CIHEC]. He is a member of the editorial board of the journals «Cuadernos de Estudios Gallegos» of the CSIC and «Rudesindus» of the Academia Auriense-Mindoniense.
