Isidro García Tato
He has a Doctorate in Theology from the Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität in Munich (Germany), where he was teaching assistant to Professor Leo Scheffczyk for eight years. He subsequently joined the CSIC, working initially at the Instituto “Francisco Suárez” in Madrid and then at the Instituto de Historia. In 1997 he joined the IEGPS.

Research topics.
His research activity has focused on the study of medieval and modern manuscript sources. At the IEGPS he is pursuing a line of research based on the transcription and study of the historiographical sources relating to the Galician missions of the Military Order of St John of Jerusalem and on the establishment and development of the Spanish Inquisition in Galicia and its impact on the shaping of Galician society (16th-19th centuries)
Other activities.
He was previously the secretary of the journal Revista Española de Teología and the secretary of IEGPS publications. He is currently the secretary of the journal Cuadernos de Estudios Gallegos and of its two book series, Anejos and Monografías. He is also a member of the advisory and scientific committees of the journals Estudios Mindonienses and Compostellanum and a member of merit of the Instituto de Estudios Valdeorreses.
